Mary - Avatar Gorgeous Abyssinian brothers, Peetie and Alex, born 12/09/10
It can't get much better than this beautiful, sweet ruddy boy
This stellar pair of Abyssinian kittens is from Mary and Avatar... both beautiful aby kittens: Peetie, shown above and below, a stunning ruddy boy, and Alex, shown below, his equally stunning blue aby brother. Alex's new parents think he is over the top, personality wise, and Peeties' family think he is top of the world... Aby's have plenty of purrsonality and are in your face busy bodies, ADD children who need a lot of attention or will get it, come Hell or high water... some aby's are shoulder riders and some are refrigerator or top of cabinet explorers...if cats in high places are not for you, well, maybe a Persian or Ragdoll will fit in better with your lifestyle.
Blue Abyssinians come in different shades of "blue" (gray) with a peachy undercoat. To me, blue Abyssinians are the most social of them all and that's saying A LOT because aby's are by nature very social! Alex has the wonderful peachy undercoat that Abyssinian breeders who breed the dilute Abyssinians (which are blue and fawn colored) strive for. He also has plenty of 'tude, as you can see in his kitten pictures below. His parents on occasion have been known to lovingly refer to him as Beelzebub, but he will always be my little angel. My blue angel... Alex could brighten up my darkest days and always made me laugh...
Once you are owned by an aby, it is difficult to go through life at any stage without one. My beloved tabbies Warner, Sparky and Poppy, mean as much to me, or more, than any aby I've had, but there is something about an aby's crazy notion of life and special zest for the mundane that forever endears them to me.
Below are two pics, taken by his new mom Linda., of Alex relax'n on a hot Memphis summer day.
Warning: If you have expensive possessions and heirlooms, put them away in Aby land. They will seek and destroy - a bit of an exaggeration, but truly they are busy bodies who on occasion manage to clumsily knock over or steal what they have been so fascinated with or oblivious to, Trinkets away!
To date, some of the best cat toy distractions are Fling-a-ma-string, Undercover Mouse, Yeouw catnip cigars, Bonita Flakes, a fish flake food treat, a laser pointer that you control so as to not get it in their eyes, anything that jingles, cat video's, cartoons on tv... you get the picture.
